The English band Ezra Collective, combining Jazz and afrobeat sounds, present their second album: "Where I'm Meant To Be".
“Where I'm Meant To Be" follows the first self-produced album by Ezra Collective titled "You Can't Steal My Joy". Since this first release, the band has toured the world, signed with Partisan Records, and released a number of singles, including More “Than A Hustler” (with Novelist), “May The Funk Be With You” and “Victory Dance” (the first track from the upcoming album). The band performed at the BBC 6 Music Festival earlier this year, as well as a sold-out show at Village Underground in London.
“Where I'm Meant To Be” is a loud celebration of life, an affirmative elevation of the winding hybrid sound and the refined collective character of Ezra Collective. The album cover references “Underground” by Thelonious Monk, and the songs combine cool confidence with bright energy. Filled with conversations between the members of the ensemble and a natural product of years of improvisation on stage, the album - which also includes features with Sampa The Great, Kojey Radical, Emile Sande and Nao - will light up dance floors and provide the soundtrack for summer dinners in equal measure.
