Pictures of Reality

Description

Exploder is one of those German metal bands that, after a demo in 1987, took their destiny into their own hands by producing an LP themselves. "Pictures Of Reality" is the name of the impressive result. The album was released in 1988 on Rockwerk Records, a label made available to bands, including the label code, by the Rockmusikerverein (rock musicians' association). The partly epic metal, which often contains elements of speed metal, would have had a chance back then with one of the relevant companies (Noise, Steamhammer, Roadrunner, etc.), before traditional metal faced commercial difficulties in the 90s. This is ensured not only by very expressive vocals but also by an incredibly professional production (for a self-pressing). You often hear the typical "Teutonic steel", but not every second, as many sequences on the album recall American bands like Omen or Liege Lord. Additionally, two songs last over eight minutes. The album was overdubbed from the master tape by Eroc (Grobschnitt) and remastered by Neudi.
