Forbidden

Description

Pioneers of the Bay Area metal scene, Forbidden makes its grand return with its first album in 16 years, delivering 12 powerful, uncompromising, and resolutely progressive tracks that signal a triumphant comeback. This album, titled "Forbidden", is released by BLKIIBLK Records and offers a bold journey through sharp riffs, incredible melodies, gold-standard lead guitars, as well as thunderous drums and bass. It also marks the studio debut of Norman Skinner (Niviane & Imagika), whose mesmerizing vocals elevate the compositions to unprecedented heights. Conceived by founder and guitarist Craig Locicero, alongside his creative brother, drummer Chris Kontos, and supported by the foundational energy of bassist Matt Camacho, the versatility of guitarist Jeremy Von Epp, as well as Skinner's bold approach, "Forbidden" represents the band's peak with its richest lineup to date. With Skinner handling the lyrics, Forbidden offers a sharp and uncompromising look at our times, without taking sides, but urging people to recognize the false conflicts created by today's society and overcome them. Listen to the impactful roar of "Single Point Failure", the wild orchestral beauty of "Flower of Life", and the relentless assault of "Burning The Lungs Of Earth". Also featured are the dark, heavy power of "Psyclops", the twisting force of "Sycophantasy" with guest vocals from Brann Dailor of Mastodon, and a thunderous ode to women, "The Burden", with vocals from Kayla Dixon. In addition, Forbidden pays tribute to classic American heavy metal band Savatage with a wicked and haunting cover of "Sirens", inspired by Greek mythology. Recorded, produced, and mixed at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, with engineer and co-producer Zack Ohren, "Forbidden" is the dazzling achievement of a band that has finally found inner peace and furious cohesion, expressing its true passionate angst and incredible metal heart.
