In March 2020, as the whole world entered a phase of transition, Evidence released a single titled "Unlearning." A year later, Evidence presents his new album, Unlearning Vol. 1, which picks up where the single of the same name left off and goes much further. Throughout his career, Evidence has managed to stay true to his roots while evolving as he grew and learned from life's experiences. Today, it is time to unlearn. In 2018, Weather or Not closed the weather-themed narrative that began in 2007 with The Weatherman. On Unlearning Vol. 1, Evidence's productions are joined by those of The Alchemist, Nottz, Sebb Bash, Animoss, Mr. Green, V Don, Daringer, and EARDRUM (QThree). This perhaps highlights an underestimated skill until now; his ability to collaborate with a multitude of producers on a project while creating an album with a cohesion and consistency rarely found in such a rich collaboration. If the musical soundscape of the album sets the scene, it is its inventive and intelligent writing, capable of speaking to everyone, that precisely paints images and continually draws the listener in. This landscape is enriched with stellar performances from Boldy James, Conway The Machine, Fly Anakin, Navy Blue, and Murkage Dave. Unlearning Vol. 1 embodies the sound and feeling of pure artistic expression where the desire to please anyone is merely a secondary reflection. This freedom has allowed Evidence to tap into something special and reach a new creative peak.
