Led by the legendary tres player, Pancho Amat. A founding member of Manguaré, which would become one of the leading ensembles of the nueva trova movement. Amat has worked with Oscar D'Leon, Pablo Milanès, Ry Cooder, Silvio Rodriguez, Omara Portuondo and many others. Estrellas de Buena Vista was formed to perpetuate the tradition of the Buena Vista Social Club. The group includes 16 musicians, including 8 original members of the Buena Vista Social Club. Singers Carlos Calunga and Lazaro Villa are from the new generation and bring new energy to Cuban classics. The repertoire will recall the golden age of Cuban music, merging traditional rhythms and songs with contemporary influences. When the group performs in Cuba, theaters are filled with enthusiastic and loving audiences, as can be heard on this live recording. And precisely to convey this authentic Cuban feeling, the band decided to record one of their shows last year. For this album, the band invited special guests, singers Alain Pérez and Mayito Rivera.
