e.s.t. live in London

Description

Esbjörn Svensson: 10 years already... A new live album recorded in London celebrates the legendary Swedish trio On June 14, 2008, the music world learned the terrible news of the pianist's death following a diving accident. The trio's career then came to an abrupt halt, in full ascent and conquest of the entire world. It should be remembered that e.s.t. was the only European band to have graced the cover of the American Jazz Bible, Downbeat (1934!). Many groups have been greatly influenced by the Swedish trio: Gogo Penguin, Mammal Hands, Portico Quartet, etc. The band's concerts were very special moments and broke away from traditional jazz; it was an unforgettable experience, somewhere between Sigur Ros, Radiohead, and Keith Jarrett, and the audience often ended up in a trance-like state! Their albums sold like hotcakes after concerts, and it was not uncommon to sell two or three hundred in small provincial venues! In 2010, the highly respected British newspaper The Times named "e.s.t. Live In Hamburg" as the jazz album of the decade 2000-2010! This album was recorded on May 20, 2005, at the Barbican Centre in London.
