Description
Since Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth sampled Ernie's anthem "Our Generation" on their 1992 hit "Straighten It Out" (and John Legend and The Roots covered it in 2010), the 1972 album Electrified has become one of the most sought-after records of its era. "Our Generation" is justly famous, a masterpiece of socially conscious 70s soul, tinged with gospel, but the rest of the album is no slouch, with "Sugar Plum (Gimme Some)", "Your Love (Is All I Need)" and the original version of "Explain It to Her Mama" by the Temprees as standout tracks.
