Europe live

Description

A rare artist, an exceptional guitarist in the service of magnificent compositions... Europe Live was recorded during Johnson’s last tour. Most of the tracks were captured at the Milkweg in Amsterdam and in Köln and Bochum in Germany, but above all there are a few tracks from the memorable concert he gave at the New Morning in Paris, which was one of the major Guitar events of the year. 14 tracks drawn from the artist’s vast repertoire and covering Johnson’s entire career, with two new compositions as a bonus. Indeed, few musicians possess a true personality that makes them incomparable to others; the Texan guitarist Eric Johnson is one of them! There is no question here of style and even less of labels, this is simply Music in its purest form, where virtuosity is not even the issue because it seems so natural... A great jazz fan, he even goes so far as to deliver an epic version of John Coltrane’s “Mr PC”.
