Musical Prophet Box Set

Description

The disciple and great accomplice of John Coltrane and his quintet was finally to gain his recognition through the unearthing of the legendary 1963 tapes, presenting for the first time the reissue of these two rarest albums. Conversations and Iron Man are here presented in a luxurious gatefold vinyl of 3LPs, released for Black Friday, enhanced with 85 minutes of rare and previously unreleased recordings. Also available in an unprecedented triple Deluxe CD! Fifty years after the release of these albums, Resonance Records has meticulously restored these found tapes for this limited edition, hand-numbered and accompanied by an exclusive booklet containing never-before-seen photographs by Jean Pierre Leloir and many other essays on the legendary multi-instrumentalist Eric Dolphy. Accompanied by Sonny Simmons, Woody Shaw, Richard Davis, and Bobby Hutcherson among many others, the music of this jazz visionary has never seemed so contemporary and moving.
