EP 7 tracks from the Dutch legends of symphonic metal EPICA. The band, centered around the famous singer Simone Simons, combines metal with unique opera vocals and has gained a huge international fan base. 'The Alchemy Project' is a collection of songs full of contrasts, and each track has been written and recorded with one or more musicians from another band - including members of Uriah Heep, Emperor, Powerwolf, Myrkur, Kamelot, and many others. This has led to the most diverse release from Epica to date, offering not only their usual symphonic anthems with choral singing but also proggy melodic moments, saxophone solos, and even the heaviest death metal track the band has ever recorded! Always further, always higher: in 20 years of existence, EPICA has never hesitated to take on challenges, has weathered all storms, and propelled the symphonic metal genre to heights that no one dared to believe. Since 2002, the band around the global metal star Simone Simons and their long-time musical partner Mark Jansen has released eight highly innovative and cinematic albums, toured the world multiple times, and has forever left their mark as one of the most prolific and admired successes in the world of music that heavy metal leaves behind. With subtly and surprisingly humorous artwork by Heilemania, EPICA embarks on a journey through seven extraordinary new songs. With various selected guests - extremists like Fleshgod Apocalypse, Niilo Sevänen (Insomnium), and Bjorn 'Speed' Strid (Soilwork) to melodic masters like Tommy Karevik (Kamelot), keyboard legend Phil Lanzon (Uriah Heep), or Roel van Helden (Powerwolf) on a unique song featuring Simone Simons, Charlotte Wessels, and Myrkur - EPICA has once again outdone themselves.
