Mindsweep - 2 CD

Description

After A Flash Flood Of Color released in 2012, ENTER SHIKARI returns in 2015 with a breathtaking new album, accompanied by a 2-hour live DVD, from Reading and St Petersburg. The Mindsweep is the result of a month spent at Chapel Studio, in Lincolnshire, last spring, once again with Dan Weller as producer. The album’s twelve tracks were mixed by Jeremy Wheatley (The Vaccines, Dizzee Rascal, Sugababes, Bon Jovi) in London during the summer of 2014. If this album is the most accomplished musically, the most melodic and, ultimately, the “softest” in ENTER SHIKARI’s entire discography, it is also the most furious and visceral. Poignant lyrics, as committed as ever, carried by a torn and heartbreaking voice, sharp guitars bouncing off an extra-heavy bass/drums duo, a few touches of electro: no doubt about it, ENTER SHIKARI are back and at the top of their game! It is once again singer Rou Reynolds who speaks best about The Mindsweep: “Vocally we pushed our limits toward more violence and more anger in the voice than ever, but this album is also the softest and most delicate thing we’ve done. It’s even more eclectic than usual (...). Alongside our guitar, bass, drums and electro setup, there are lots of new instruments and orchestration.” With this album, ENTER SHIKARI becomes what Linkin Park should have been after Meteora: a bridge between Hardcore, Electro, Indus, and Prog Rock.
