Description

Musician of Romanian origin, Georges Enesco was known as a virtuoso violinist, conductor, and composer. In this last field, he was a student of Fauré and Massenet.
He shared his life between his native country and Paris, where he settled permanently after the Second World War. He was also the teacher of Menuhin, whom he supported at the beginning of his career and conducted his first recordings.
His work is largely inspired by the popular music of Romania.
Gilles Apap, a champion of music inspired by Central Europe, is perfectly suited to interpret these pages. Bruno Monsaingeon, known for his documentaries on Glenn Gould, David Oistrakh, and other personalities, made two documentaries about the artist and his approach to music.
Gilles Apap was considered the musician of the century by Menuhin.
