Description

The sumptuous world of "Intermèdes" ...
Florence at the end of the 16th century is a theater: politics first and foremost, in the eyes of dynasties eager to display their power through the arts. Humanist as well, as evidenced by these intermedii aiming to achieve the perfect alliance between music and poetry, the ideal of a certain Renaissance. Interspersed in plays imitating the Ancients, these entertainments were presented in sumptuous visual and sound devices. Rather than an impossible reconstruction, Raphaël Pichon has conceived a sort of imaginary interlude by summoning the figures of Apollo, Orpheus, and Eurydice and above all, Love, Love, Love!
