Description
The mysterious Javanese gamelan by Nicolas Mondon.The title of this album, "Bronze battu en herbes", is taken from a line by Édouard Glissant: “this sound, beaten bronze, fell into grass” (Dream country, real country, Gallimard, 1985). It inspired the young composer Nicolas Mondon during his years at the Conservatoire de Paris on the musical processes of the gamelan, metallic percussion from the center of the island of Java as models for musical composition.
