EN MINOR’s origins lie in Philip H. Anselmo’s childhood, growing up in New Orleans’ French Quarter.
The foundations of some tracks were written at significant stages of Philip's life, notably when he received his first guitar at the age of 9 and, lacking the patience to learn other people's music, began writing his own. Other elements drawn from Anselmo’s underground band, Body & Blood, evolved into EN MINOR tracks. Although Philip is better known for his extreme rock and metal repertoire, here he reveals a calmer, more melodic singing style – which doesn't prevent his lyrics from remaining dark and vindictive.
With former members of Superjoint Ritual, EN MINOR proves to be a true surprise, both beautiful and awful, uncompromising. This is not mood music; it's mood-killing music.
