'Vide', the new opus by Belgian band EMPTINESS, aims to be a claustrophobic album, the journey of an infinite mind trapped in a world too small.
Questioning the essence of perceptions of yesteryear, this album invites you to rethink your apprehension of reality. To achieve this, it was important for EMPTINESS to be isolated during its experiments. Recordings took place sometimes in confined spaces such as apartments or a cabin in the woods, or even on a city rooftop allowing contemplation of a strange human world from above. Participation was strictly limited to band members who handled all audio and visual production.
The pandemic and lockdown occurred while recording was underway, a materialization of the imaginary world being created.
The album, by chance or not, is in tune with our dissonant times.
