An exceptional female group, thanks to the Hutchinson Sisters from Chicago (with Theresa Davis on this album) and co-producers Isaac Hayes, David Porter, and Ronnie Williams! The recording at Muscle Shoals and Stax studios seems to have added a bit of grit to The Emotions' sound; this 1971 classic on the Volt label offers the perfect blend of sweetness and sass. "Show Me How" was a hit, but it's "Blind Alley" that made Untouched one of the most sought-after albums of its kind: this track is one of the most sampled in all of pop and hip-hop, notably by Big Daddy Kane ("Ain't No Half-Steppin'") and Mariah Carey ("Dreamlover").
