Harpsichordist Philippe Grisvard continues his exploration of the cantatas of Alessandro Scarlatti, this time alongside soprano Emmanuelle De Negri. Continuing from the first volume, this sequel brings together rarities and surprises, such as a luminous early work with a very free form, or a "themed" cantata centered on a famous figure from Roman history. Each work has been chosen to reveal the multiple stylistic nuances of the Scarlattian language. Together, the performers offer an incisive and inventive interpretation, restoring all the brilliance to these brief and intensely expressive works.
