Emitt Rhodes is Emitt Rhodes' second album, released in 1970, which he recorded in his home studio. At the time, union rules required major label recordings to be made in a studio, which prevented the mention of the recording's domestic nature on the album cover. The original LP version on Dunhill Records featured a decorative message in the run-out groove proclaiming "Recorded at Home." Rhodes wanted to call the album Homecooking, but the label chose to name it Emitt Rhodes. The album reached number 29 on the Billboard 200, and the single "Fresh as a Daisy" charted at number 54 on the Hot 100. Billboard later called the album one of the "best albums of the decade."
