Inédits 1927-1952 Coffret
Description
Outdated and dusty, musette? Not at all! It should even be placed in the currently triumphant category of "urban music": let's remember that it was on the Parisian pavement that it was born and grew in the early 20th century, transforming the landscape of popular music just like jazz in New Orleans, tango in Buenos Aires, or rebetiko in Athens. It was time to pay tribute to its creator. When the words "bal musette" are spoken in public, it is not uncommon to provoke a little smirk. An outdated and dusty genre, musette? Not at all! It should even be placed in the currently triumphant category of "urban music": let's remember that it was on the Parisian pavement that it was born and grew in the early 20th century, transforming the landscape of popular music just like jazz in New Orleans, tango in Buenos Aires, or rebetiko in Athens. Émile Vacher was born in Tours on May 7, 1883 – He passed away in Paris on April 14, 1969. He is the creator of the musette waltz and the java. A pioneer of the accordion. Let us remember him and not forget… Born in Tours (May 7, 1883) to an unknown father and a Breton mother who was abused by a member of a wealthy Touraine family where she was a young servant. He would be adopted in Paris where his "new" father Louis Vacher would give him an accordion for his 10th birthday. He quickly proved to be a musical prodigy with this new instrument (the accordion) which would become emblematic of popular music thanks to him. In 1900, the Vacher family bought the bal de la Montagne Sainte Geneviève. It was in this early 20th century Left Bank Paris that Émile Vacher would revolutionize urban popular music of the 20th century by inventing the musette waltz and the java. He recorded over 500 titles that sold by the tens of thousands. He was a huge radio star. He passed away on April 14, 1969, in destitution. Abandoned by the profession. It was time to pay him tribute.Buy Inédits 1927-1952 Coffret at the best price
