Description

With Floating, Émile Parisien celebrates the art of musical encounter. A major saxophonist in the European jazz scene, Émile Parisien has over 20 albums to his credit, numerous awards, and international media coverage. Known for his notable collaborations with Vincent Peirani (Belle Époque) and Ballaké Sissoko (Les Égarés), he continues his musical exploration with Floating. Conceived in 2025 at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale in Paris, this project marks the birth of an unprecedented transatlantic quartet, blending jazz and electro accents. Yaron Herman is on piano, a bold improviser with multiple influences, Linda May Han Oh on double bass, a Grammy Award-winning bassist, and Prabhu Edouard on percussion and tablas, a key figure in the dialogue between traditions and contemporary music. Born from a unique carte blanche evening, Floating was recorded in two days to preserve the momentum and spontaneity of the encounter. The album unfolds intimate and airy chamber jazz, allowing space for silence, deep listening, and a delicate sense of suspension.
