When voice and guitar visit 20th-century Latin music! A Romancero is a collection of poems and romances where short narratives shape a larger story. Stories of women and men who, through the twists and turns of life, experience love and its torments. Here, cycles of melodies intertwine to create a musical mosaic that groups the works into four chapters: passion, betrayal, comfort, and loss. In the manner of a tale, Romancero is an invitation to explore the secrets of these feelings through music. The body of works includes a large majority of original arrangements as well as original pieces featuring composers who marked 20th-century Spanish-language music, weaving a thread of love poetry from the romanticism of the Spanish Isaac Albeniz to the modernity of the Cuban Leo Brouwer.
