In the shadow of César Franck, a forgotten constellation! This album explores a rare French and Belgian repertoire composed between 1892 and 1932, marked by the influence of César Franck. Around the Sonata by Guillaume Lekeu, a lineage emerges connecting Mel Bonis, Charlotte Sohy, and Vincent d'Indy. The program also highlights unjustly neglected works, such as the Élégies by Camille Saint-Saëns. The comparison with Olivier Messiaen reveals the rapid evolution of French musical language at the beginning of the 20th century. The Nocturne by Elsa Barraine closes this journey with an atmosphere both mysterious and poetic.
