New album from the French funk group ELECTRO DELUXE, featuring Candy Dulfer, Nils Landgren, and Fred Wesley
With this new album, Electro Deluxe wanted to return to the fundamentals. For the first time, they are the only masters on board, taking control to try to rediscover the essence of their music. As both authors, composers, arrangers, and producers of their 7th studio album, they wanted to oversee every step of the creation of their new album "NEXT".
"NEXT" is an album that could benefit from the "HOMEMADE" label because they chose a handcrafted approach for both writing and recording. Largely made "at home," this album is designed as an invitation to welcome listeners into their living room.
While continuing to push boundaries, Electro Deluxe wanted to make their taste for musical exploration coexist with a desire to return to their roots. This desire to reconnect with their first loves in the realms of FUNK and SOUL is reflected in the exceptional presence of prestigious guests. The holy trinity of iconic brass in Funk music is indeed present on "NEXT".
Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer, known for her work with Prince and Dave Stewart, graced them with a solo on the single "NAKIE".
Swedish trombonist Nils Landgren, founder of the famous Funk Unit, joined the brass section for the instrumental groove named after the album "NEXT".
Fred Wesley, a true living legend, American trombonist of James Brown, Maceo Parker, and founder of the "JB’s," honored them by playing on a track written as a tribute to the music he embodies like no one else, "BLADE".
As the group places the stage above all, Electro Deluxe conceived this new album as moments to share in concert with the audience.
