In 2019, El Michels Affair released the tracks "Unathi" and "Zaharlia". It was their first exploration of the band into the world of Turkish-inspired Bollywood psychedelic funk. The pleasure this brought to El Michels Affair and its fans was mutual, so much so that they recorded an entire album in this unique style titled Yeti Season, which would be released later in 2020. Side A, "Dhuaan", features the enchanting voice of Piya Malik. It begins with a burst of white noise and launches into an irresistible groove punctuated by fuzz guitar, crushing drums, and a hypnotic 12-string guitar that keeps everything from going off the rails. Piya's ethereal voice floats above it all, singing in Hindi about a love so powerful it devours you. Side B, "Sha Na Na", is softer and essentially instrumental, except for the repetitive "sha na na na" hook from Shannon Wise of Shacks, which adds to the song's hypnotic effect.
