Édouard Ferlet has already taken the back roads for the Alpha label since with Violaine Cochard, he released in 2015 "Plucked Unplucked," an album mixing piano and harpsichord: a beautiful success that will soon have offspring. The double bassist Stéphane Kerecki has released several albums for Outhere, including "Nouvelle Vague," awarded at the Victoires de la Musique. The career of trumpeter Airelle Besson has been in full explosion since 2015, the year she received both the Django Reinhardt Prize from the Académie du Jazz and the Revelation of the Victoires du Jazz. These three jazzmen and woman met, and they decided to create a trio to blend their universes and desires.
Here is the fruit of their first year of companionship, a program that presents compositions from each of them, an album with jazz colors, but several tracks are directly inspired by great classical standards, such as "Es is Vollbracht" from the St. John Passion by Bach, the Pavanes by Ravel and Fauré, the Sentimental Waltz by Tchaikovsky, or the Sabre Dance by Khatchaturian that can be guessed behind the "Stances du Sabre"... The refinement of the compositions and the playing, the musicians' sense of listening are sources of pleasure and fulfillment.
