In Dream

Description

In addition to more than a decade of existence, EDITORS has offered the public a broad panorama of musical experimentation, embodied by four albums with a raw and eclectic style. In Dream is, in many respects, the legitimate continuation of In This Light And On This Evening, the 2009 number 1 album in the UK that marked Editors’ first shift toward a broader musical palette. For their fifth studio album, EDITORS pushes electronic experimentation even further, directly drawn from the post-punk influences that are its own. The result is a broader musical palette where traditional guitars, basses, and drums meet both atmospheric synths and dub and dance beats. Added to this is a variety of atmospheres, drawn from the worlds of ambient and neoclassical, as well as, in a very Editors style, pop sensibilities of all kinds, from new and old sounds of the English pop explosion of the 1980s to the unusual hip hop worlds of The Weeknd. Oscillating between ballads and energetic rock, In Dream once again proves that EDITORS is never where the public expects it to be.
