Geometry of Murder Extra Capsular Extraction Inversions/Double Crystal Clear LP

Description

Lynn Taitt and Gladstone Anderson came together at Federal Studio in Kingston in 1968, accompanied by the Jets, to record one of the great rocksteady instrumental sessions. Taitt, the Trinidadian guitarist often credited with shaping the sound of the style, fits perfectly with Anderson's laid-back piano and a rhythm section that keeps everything tight yet unhurried. "Intensified '68" and "A.B.C. Rocksteady" are sharp dancefloor tracks, while "Ride Me Donkey" and "Starlight" showcase the band's talent for easy charm. Covers like "If I Only Had Time" and "Love Me Forever" reveal the melodic sweetness at the heart of the project, and well before reaching this reissue at Dub Store, it's a record that captures the glow of the short but golden era of rocksteady.
