Dvne is a band of great contrasts, weaving together titanic heaviness and complex softness, with lyrical ideas and engaging stories, and this has only been developed and focused on the second album Etemen Aenka. “It’s an album that has a musical narrative, and we hope that it encourages exploration of the universe we have created around it,” says guitarist/singer Victor Vicart. In exploring deeper and in all ways, it’s a big step forward compared to Asheran from 2017, embarking on an exciting new chapter in the existence of one of the most exciting and imaginative metal bands active today. Etemen Ænka is also the second collaboration of Dvne with producer Graeme Young at Edinburgh Studio, having developed an excellent working relationship with him on Asheran - “he acts like an additional member of the band and really pushes us to make better takes.” This allowed for a smooth and productive recording process, the hard part that precedes their entry into the studio.
