Tango Secret

Description

Like a miniature opera, tango is a musical genre that transcends all eras. Incredibly modern, it spans the centuries while always staying a step ahead. This is why it is so widely played and listened to. Lasting less than three minutes, it features a hyper-realistic setting and atmosphere in which characters, described in a cruel manner, often flirt with self-pity, passion, and tragedy. Intuitive, the music of tangos is primarily linked to its own story, as mundane as it is universal. To better understand it, we must return to the dramatic origins of old tangos, these unique documents of raw poetry, and the settings in which they were born. The duo Bishop / Rigou is the result of an improbable chemistry between two musicians: Céline Bishop, a pianist with a touch that is sometimes delicate, sometimes powerful, and Luis Rigou, a singer with an exquisite voice and a virtuoso of the flute. With Tango Secret, the duo aims to uncover the rare and forgotten gems of tango with unrestrained expressive power.
