For this new album, Low Cut decided to go it alone. With compositions 100% based on sampling, and machines drawing from the grooves of records like derricks in an oil field, Low Cut has extracted the most precious seconds from carefully chosen vinyls. The origin, artist, year, and label will remain a secret. Low Cut has only agreed to reveal Italian progressive rock as one of the components. Sitar, piano, and synthesizer loops. Expressive, nostalgic, or enigmatic loops for journeys where gravity is abolished. Where futuristic keyboards allow for an astral takeoff, while guitars evoke desert wanderings, vast and ochre, with an aggressive sun and waiting coyotes as the only companions. Filtered, processed, deconstructed loops, for experiences that blend incense and the double-zero, for excursions into 16mm soundtracks where soothing nature gives way to urban oppression in a few snare drum hits. Slowed-down BPMs, accentuated breakbeats, and groove driven by the purring strings of a real bass, Stoned Ride explores climates and atmospheres with continuity and logical progression. That of an instrumental hip-hop trip with Low Cut as the sole orchestrator.
