For his new album with Sony Classical, titled Echoes, pianist, composer, and viral phenomenon Dirk Maassen offers a resonant and therapeutic album with notable guests. Recorded in Iceland and Germany, Dirk Maassen's home country, Echoes follows in the footsteps of his previous album (Ocean) to provide deep, meditative, and soothing music. Maassen's musical fiber is this time enriched on certain tracks by the bow strokes of violinist and influencer Esther Abrami and the talented Icelandic duo Hugar. For this album, no less than 8 songs feature versions recorded on his upright piano "From Home," a clear nod to his German audience. Furthermore, this airy album is the result of a co-design in which Maassen invites his listeners from around the world to participate. Concerned with taking their feelings into account, the composer launches with this new album a campaign inviting them to share their opinions on the music, some of which will be included in the album artwork. A campaign that, in light of his compositions, will also reflect the themes of echoes and resonance through various activities that will be revealed soon.
