Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not

Description

Let’s be realistic: one of the most exciting things of 2016 is the release of the new Dinosaur Jr. album. After all, the band’s original lineup (J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph) only recorded three albums, and that was in the 80s. Everyone was left speechless when they got back together in 2005. All the more so when they decided they would stay together. Of the 11 tracks on Give a Glimpse Of What Yer Not, nine are by J Mascis. From the retro glam of Sweet Apple to the metal accents of Witch and the saturated ostrich-rock of Heavy Blanket, it is always impressive to see how varied yet recognizable his music is, proof of his uniqueness. The other two tracks on the album are written and sung by Lou Barlow.
