The reception to HIDE FROM THE LIGHT has been absolutely incredible. After working on a project for so long, it's easy to wonder if what you've created is good and to get a little lost in it, but the fact that it was so well received and that people from all over the country came to see it live was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. With the story of the EP beginning with Hide From the Light and concluding with Suffer in the Dark, as a chronological concept and a cautionary tale, we wanted to explore how to go further and try to give a true conclusion to the project. We tried to imagine what would come after the last track and decided that these new songs would serve thematically and lyrically as a sequel, or what it means to suffer in the dark. That said, these new songs are even more personal, intense, and darker than the original project. We really wanted to explore this stage of the project's story more deeply, and we believe these three songs form a poignant, dark, and haunting epilogue. Being able to re-release the project in its entirety is very exciting, and we've worked hard to make it special while maintaining the spirit of the original. We can't wait to share this story with the public and have it discovered in its entirety. This project has meant so much to us, and we can't wait to give it the conclusion it deserves. The HIDE FROM THE LIGHT EP tells the story of a person who gradually loses faith and hope of healing, and, as a result, no longer has the desire to try and willingly lets themselves be consumed by negativity. This story is told chronologically through each song on the project, with the opening and closing tracks designed to mirror each other to convey the story's final message. If you choose to hide from the light, you will suffer in the dark. Musically, HIDE FROM THE LIGHT is a impactful evolution of our current sound, which we have been working on for a long time. We have incorporated many more of our respective influences into this project and can't wait to finally release it.
