Something To Consume

Description

When passion, friendship, identity claims, and art come together, one sometimes feels a protesting rage surge through one's veins, forming a battle cry. And as postmodern society crumbles, Die Spitz finds a thousand and one ways to resist. If the world of rock were an ice cream parlor, the Austin quartet would have tasted every flavor, overturned the freezer, and danced with the employees they helped unionize. On their debut album, *Something to Consume* (Third Man Records), Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter fight against the consumerism that defines our existence today. "There's a political aspect to it, but addiction and love can also be consuming," explains Livingston. The four musicians swap instruments, share songwriting and vocals, and produce powerful, intermittent tracks. Die Spitz have created their own sanctuary where we can all meet at the edge of the abyss.
