Fuga Latina is a new collection from Outhere Music that celebrates the voice of Latin America in all its richness and complexity: its composers, musicians, and creators, the diversity of its traditions, as well as the artistic dialogues it maintains with the world, far beyond clichés. This first album, recorded live at the PAAX GNP 2023 Festival on the Riviera Maya in Mexico, brings together three iconic concertos under the direction of Alondra de la Parra, the artistic director and founder of the festival. Works by Paquito D’Rivera, Omar Massa, Yamandu Costa, and Sérgio Assad create a vibrant sound journey from the Caribbean to Buenos Aires and then to Brazil, where African, Chinese, and Latin American traditions meet the symphonic universe. The composers themselves perform the solo parts alongside The Impossible Orchestra. The spontaneity and shared energy of the concert give these works a sincere and unique intensity, captured in all the freshness and emotion of the moment.
