Donizetti takes these queens through an intense range of emotions and shows them in all their femininity. His music allows great freedom to the voice and supports it with a climate, energy, and wonderful melodies. Diana Damrau shines brightly in these roles, thanks in particular to the exceptional musicality and energy of maestro Antonio Pappano and his Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
