Epicloud is a record made up of simple, energetic structures, overflowing with some of the most obvious melodies composed by Devin in recent years. Excellently produced, the entirety of the album seeks impact. It achieves this with every track. Devin Townsend did not want to mess around on "Epicloud." Simple and direct rhythms, big production, clear vocals, it hits hard. This Metal is catchy and very engaging. Also noteworthy are the many complementary vocals by Anneke Van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering). Anneke develops here, once again, a broad and clear voice but operating this time at a level that goes beyond mere detail. The master is back, touched by grace with his madness and genius.
