The Deslondes are a five-member band from New Orleans. The group shares songwriting and lead vocal duties among its five members, thus maintaining its democratic ethos and musical versatility. Several members have released solo recordings between their second album, Hurry Home (2016), and their previous album Ways & Means (2022). Today, with their latest album, Roll It Out, the band continues to build on its inventive vision of New Orleans country and R&B. Roll It Out finds the group drawing on the country-folk of their early days as well as the gospel-soul sound, sometimes psychedelic and electrified, of their previous albums. Link Wray, and others, but Roll It Out is the sound of a band that understands the history of American music while embracing its own contemporary approach.
