The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio - also known as DLO3 - specializes in the lost art of "feel good" music. The ingredients of this intoxicating cocktail include a generous helping of 60s jazz organ in the style of Jimmy Smith and Baby Face Willette; a dash of soul à la Booker T. & The M.G.'s and The Meters; sprinkled with blues, Motown and Stax sounds, and cosmic guitars à la Jimi Hendrix. A soul-jazz concoction that hits you right in the heart, making your whole body sweat. The band includes organist Delvon Lamarr, a self-taught virtuoso musician with perfect pitch who masters many instruments. On guitar, we find Jimmy James, who takes us on a journey through guitar playing à la Steve Cropper, with acid-rock explosions and seductive jazz touches à la Grant Green. Hailing from Reno, Nevada, Dan Weiss (from the soul-funk collective The Sextones) is behind the drums to complete the trio's volcanic alchemy. Founded by Lamarr's manager and wife, Amy Novo, the trio started modestly in 2015, but has since released two Billboard-charting albums and toured the world playing sold-out venues. The trio now returns with their second studio album, I Told You So, armed with even heavier and more confident grooves. A few years have passed since their first studio effort, but they haven't lost an ounce of their talent!
