In 1806, his publisher Muzio Clementi commissioned Beethoven a transcription for piano of the famous Violin Concerto Op.61: the centerpiece of this recording is this transcription that the Austrian pianist Dejan Lazic plays with remarkable precision, accompanied by the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. The interesting coupling of the disc offers us the Opus 40 sonata by Muzio Clementi, also a composer, and a sonata by Johan Baptist Cramer, an English student of Clementi who became a composer and whom Beethoven admired.
