Born at the junction of hardcore, punk and metal, Death Ray Vision reached its peak with its third album, "No Mercy From Electric Eyes." "With every record we get a little more experimental, flirt with different styles and feelings, and we want to keep developing that," says guitarist and founding member Pete Cortese. "My favorite element of this band is the creative freedom, not being backed into a corner, and I like to think that in the end, it always sounds like us. That is certainly true on 'No Mercy From Electric Eyes,' which retains DRV's core sound while pushing in new directions, creating their most immersive release to date. The band started writing in late 2018, after touring with Killswitch Engage - who share bassist Mike D'Antonio with DRV - and still had plenty of creative momentum after "Negative Mental Attitude," released the same year. The album may have taken a while to come to fruition due to the members' other commitments, but the results demonstrate that they are playing at the top of their game.
