Description

Vegas is the second album by American songwriter Geneviève Beaudoin, inspired by the end of a close friendship during a stay in Las Vegas in 2021. Back in Maine, Beaudoin turns this experience into a series of songs devoted to grief, memory, attachment, and the difficulty of leaving certain relationships behind. Recorded on a farm at the foot of the White Mountains with her partner Luke Kalloch and produced by Sam Kassirer and Colin Lester Fleming, Vegas blends guitars, synthesizers, drums, and piano around Beaudoin’s expressive voice. Between stripped-down passages and fuller arrangements, the album blurs the boundaries between places, memories, and the present, while following a path toward acceptance and a braver way of caring for the relationships that matter.
