In 1972, Orchestre Abass released two incredible Afro-funk singles on Polydor, but it wasn't until 2008, and the discovery of unreleased tracks in Ghana, that the idea of an album release took shape. With their powerful organ sound combined with the finest musical touches, these recordings were the work of a true rhythmic powerhouse and undoubtedly one of Togo's funkiest bands. Unfortunately, Malam Issa Abass, the band's founder, guitarist, and keyboardist, was killed in 1993 by a grenade thrown into his room. To reconstruct the band's biography, Analog Africa tracked down Thon Komla, one of the band's songwriters, and Abderaman Issa, the guitarist. 180g vinyl in a gatefold sleeve including unreleased photos and a detailed biography. Limited edition of 2000 copies.
