Description

Following the success of the recording dedicated to Jean-Marie Leclair, we have decided to continue our exploration of the rich repertoire of French violin music from the 18th century. Leclair's success in the late 1720s had a catalytic effect, and many talents emerged in his wake. In a particularly favorable context, the prowess of each violinist is scrutinized by observers, and the title of "First Violin of France" is fiercely contested. We owe this positive emulation to a multiplication of collections of sonatas for violin, among which we have chosen the 6 gems that will make up the program of this new album. Most of these works are recorded for the first time worldwide.
