David Gray returns with a new album, Skellig, written over several years and recorded in 2019 in the Scottish Highlands at Clashnarrow Studios in Helmsdale. The album is mainly inspired by the history of the monks who, thousands of years ago, inhabited the island of Skellig Michael off the coast of Ireland. David Gray then imagines this life of isolation close to God, in a purely minimal style, and builds his album as the legacy of this time and place, completely free from the noise of our modern lives.
