Rattle that lock'

David Gilmour has announced the release of his new solo album, 'Rattle That Lock', on September 18. The first single, also titled 'Rattle That Lock', begins with the famous SNCF jingle, created by Michael Boumendil, which echoes through all the train stations in France. David Gilmour says: "I was at Aix en Provence station 2 years ago and I heard the SNCF jingle, and I recorded it on my phone. Those are the first notes you hear on the first excerpt from the album Rattle That Lock." 'Rattle That Lock' is David Gilmour's 4th solo album. It follows 'On An Island', released in 2006. Gilmour worked with a longtime partner to write this album, Polly Samson, and co-produced it with Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music. The cover artwork for 'Rattle That Lock' was created by Dave Stansbie of Creative Corporation under the direction of Aubrey Powell (Hipgnosis).
