The influence of David Gilmour on the world of music is immense. Singer and genius guitarist David Gilmour has always been concerned with offering solo productions that reflect his creative genius. He has been ranked as the 6th "greatest guitarist of all time" by Rolling Stone and "greatest guitarist of all time" by Fender, returning after nine years of absence with a new album, "Luck and Strange," his fifth studio album. The album was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, known for their work with ALT-J and Marika Hackman. Most of the lyrics were written by Polly Samson, Gilmour's collaborator for thirty years. Samson states about the themes addressed on "Luck and Strange": "It's written from the perspective of age; mortality is a constant." The album includes eight new tracks as well as a beautiful cover of "Between Two Points" by the Montgolfier Brothers.
