Lily Was Here is the original soundtrack for the Dutch drama film of the same name (original Dutch title: De Kassière, The Cashier), released in 1989. Produced and largely written by British musician David A. Stewart, member of the pop duo Eurythmics, it revolves around the eponymous track, an instrumental duet where Stewart plays guitar and Candy Dulfer plays saxophone. Released as a single, this piece achieved international success, reaching number one in the Netherlands for five weeks, sixth in the United Kingdom, and eleventh on the American Billboard Hot 100. In addition to original compositions, the album features a new version of the Eurythmics track "Here Comes the Rain Again" (1984), performed by Annie Lennox, as well as "Second Chance" with vocals by Virginia Astley. Lily Was Here is available in a limited edition on red vinyl.
