Description

Darkwater is a Swedish progressive metal band, originally from Borås. The band was formed in late 2003 in western Sweden. During the first years of existence, they only played a few selected concerts in Sweden while working on the material for their first album. During the summer and fall of 2006, Darkwater recorded and mixed the album, and in early 2007, a contract was signed with the Swedish label Ulterium Records.
After further tours in Europe, notably at ProgPower Europe 2010, Darkwater released their second album Where Stories End in late 2010. Although slightly different from their beginnings, being more direct and song-oriented than Calling the Earth to Witness, the follow-up became just as critically acclaimed as the debut. A music video promotes the album, "Breathe."
The blend of melodic and progressive metal by Darkwater is inspired by bands like Symphony X, Dream Theater, Andromeda, and Evergrey.
